A Real Alternative To Cast Iron
This profile should not be confused with the Victorian Ogee. The No 46 Moulded Ogee Cast Aluminium gutter is a deeper gutter than the Victorian ogee with a flat back and flat bottom with the front edge incorporating the ogee moulding.
Generally speaking this type of gutter is more widely used on larger type properties especially schools where it is very common.
Available sizes in this profile of gutter are:
- 100mm opening x 75mm depth (4” x 3”)
- 125mm opening x 100mm depth (5” x 4”)
- 150mm opening x 100mm depth (6” x 4”)
The moulded ogee No 46 gutter is pre-drilled on the back edge for direct fixing to fascia board. Fascia brackets are required although they are available should you wish to use them. The No 46 Moulded Ogee aluminium gutter is not designed for fixing to open rafter ends although it can be if using special rafter style brackets.
Our range of cast moulded ogee gutters come with all necessary fittings including corners, outlets, stop ends and facia brackets. Each component comes with a socket & spigot for easy jointing just like the old cast iron gutters of old.
A liberal covering of Arbosil 1096 gutter sealant is recommended for bedding the joints as it provides a strong mechanical bond that will withstand the forces associated with thermal movement. An aluminium nut/bolt/washer is then fastened tightly to squeeze the sealant together and tighten the fitting. The heads of the bolts can be powder coated to match the gutter.
Once fitted the No 46 Moulded Ogee aluminium guttering system will look jus like cast iron and with a powder coated finish the life expectancy should be well in excess of 30 years.
